Identification products for OEMs

An original equipment manufacturer does not buy a nameplate. It buys the identification package for a machine — the brand plate, the rating plate, the serial plate, the safety labelling, the control panel, and everything that has to agree with all of it.

Buying that from one supplier is the point. One purchase order, one drawing, one revision history, and one company accountable when something has to change.

In-house manufacturing

We offer start-to-finish, in-house capabilities — tooling, artwork, printing, fabrication, and inspection — and we strive to give our customers the widest array of options the industry has to offer.

For an OEM this matters most where a printed legend has to line up with a machined feature: a hole pattern clearing a switch, a bend missing a legend, an embossed serial field beside screen-printed text. Those get resolved in one building against one drawing, rather than across two vendors and two revision histories.

It also changes what happens when something moves. A single supplier who prints, cuts, and forms the part can turn a revision around without renegotiating it across a supply chain — which is why production teams tend to judge an identification supplier less on the first order than on how reliable the tenth one is.

Quality and consistency

Our rejection rate over the past 50 years, across more than 440,000 orders processed, is less than one quarter of one percent of annual sales in each of those years.

We are ISO 9001:2015 certified and a UL authorized label supplier, as well as a recognized supplier for UL system I and II labeling and marking systems. Our staff average an impressive 10 plus years of service, which is most of why a part ordered today is built the same way in five years. See our ISO 9001:2015 certification.

Supply programs

The larger the OEM, the more the real cost sits in handling rather than in the parts themselves.

Label setsMultiple decals consolidated into one print or die operation, delivered as a sheet ready to apply. One part number instead of nine. See label sets.
KittingPanels, plates, and decals for one unit bundled under one part number. See kitting.
Stock and releaseProduction quantities held here and released against your build schedule, invoiced upon delivery rather than upon ordering. See stock and release programs.
Rush servicesExpedited production in 3–5 business days when a date moves. See rush services.

Trade shows and memberships

To better understand our customers’ needs we participate in tradeshows throughout the year, exhibiting at and attending CONEXPO-CON/AGG, IMTS, GIE+Expo, the PEI Show, and the Global Gaming Expo. We are members of AEM, FEMA, and NTEA.

How an OEM program starts

  1. Send one machine’s worth of identification. A bill of materials, a photo of a finished unit, or the current parts. Quotes are free on every order.
  2. We review the whole package. Materials and processes recommended per part, against where each one mounts and what it has to survive.
  3. Proof and first article. A press-ready proof at no charge, and a first article where fit matters.
  4. Production. 7–10 days after proof approval in an ISO 9001:2015 certified facility, shipping within a 10% over/under standard.
  5. Consolidate. Once proven, the package can collapse into a label set or kit held on a stocking program and released against your build schedule.

OEM RFQ checklist

  • A list of the identification on one machine, or a photo of a finished unit
  • Artwork or drawings for each part, or the current parts themselves
  • How many models or configurations need their own version
  • Where each part mounts, and what it is exposed to in service
  • Annual volume, and how many units you build in a typical month
  • Whether you want parts consolidated into sets or kits, and held for release
  • Your timing, including the date the line actually needs parts

If you do not have all of that yet, send what you have and call 319-895-8804.
