Custom Nameplate and Label Kitting Services

Everything for one machine, in one kit

Control panels, decals, safety labels, and serial tags for a single machine delivered together as one pre-bundled kit. It saves time and money in the installation process and keeps the identification package on one revision.

About kitting

A kit is everything a single unit needs for identification, bundled and delivered together under one part number. Unlike a label set, a kit is not limited to decals — it can carry metal plates, panels, and flexible parts in the same package.

Because all of these are manufactured here, a kit does not require us to buy anything in. One purchase order covers the panels, the plates, and the decals.

Installation savings

The saving lands on your assembly floor. One kit per unit means the person building the machine picks one item, not eleven, and can see immediately whether anything is missing before the unit moves down the line.

One part number
Purchasing raises one line. Receiving checks one item in. Inventory carries one SKU instead of a dozen.
No picking errors
The kit is built to a unit, so there is no chance of the wrong panel going with the wrong model.
No partial shortages
A single missing decal cannot hold a finished machine. The kit ships complete or it does not ship.
Less handling
Parts are bundled once, here, instead of being picked from separate bins every time you build a unit.
Cleaner revisions
When something changes, the kit is revised as a unit. Old stock of one component does not quietly get built into a current machine.

Kits built to your models

We build the kit around your finished product. If you produce several models, or several configurations of one model, each gets its own kit and its own part number so the assembler never has to decide which parts belong to which build.

Kits can be packed in the order of assembly, labelled to your part numbering rather than ours, and bagged or boxed to suit how they are stored at your line. Tell us how the parts are consumed and we will pack to that.

Kitting, label sets, and stock and release

Three related services that solve different pieces of the same problem, and work best together.

Kitting
Everything for one unit — panels, plates, and decals — bundled under one part number. This page.
Label setsMultiple decals consolidated into one print or die operation and delivered as a sheet ready to apply. Often one component inside a kit. See label sets.
Stock and releaseKits held in our inventory for just-in-time delivery. You order ahead, we hold them until you need them, and the order is invoiced upon delivery rather than upon ordering. See stock and release programs.

Run together, you carry one part number, hold no inventory, and receive complete kits against your build schedule.

How a kitting program starts

  1. Tell us what goes on one unit. A bill of materials, a photo of a finished machine, or the parts themselves. Our seasoned art department turns any blueprint or artwork into a press-ready proof at no charge.
  2. We build and quote the kit. Component by component, with your part numbering, packing format, and models identified.
  3. You approve a first kit. Proof the contents and the packing before a production quantity is built.
  4. Production. Most jobs finish 7–10 days after the proof is approved, in an ISO 9001:2015 certified facility. Rush work runs 3–5 business days for an additional fee.
  5. Delivery or release. Kits ship within a 10% over/under quantity standard, or go into a stocking program and release against your build schedule.

Kitting RFQ checklist

  • A list of every identification part that goes on one unit, or a photo of a finished machine
  • Artwork for each component, or the current parts if artwork is not available
  • How many models or configurations need their own kit
  • Your part numbers, if you want kits labelled to your system
  • Annual volume, and how many units you build in a typical month
  • How you want kits packed — bagged, boxed, or in assembly order
  • Whether you want kits held in inventory and released against your schedule

If you do not have all of that yet, send what you have and call 319-895-8804. Customer service is open 8:00 AM–4:30 PM CST Monday through Thursday and 7:00 AM–3:30 PM CST Friday, and you will always reach someone in person.

Labelling, packing, and traceability

A kit is only as useful as the label on the outside of it. Kits can be bagged or boxed and marked with your part number, your model designation, and a revision reference, so the person at your line identifies the right kit without opening it.

Where a kit contains parts carrying serial numbers or other sequential data, the range in each kit can be recorded, which matters when a unit has to be traced back later. Tell us what your traceability process needs and we will pack and mark to it.

Kits are produced in an ISO 9001:2015 certified facility, and our rejection rate over the past 50 years, across more than 440,000 orders processed, is under one quarter of one percent of annual sales in each of those years.
