Custom Identification Label Sets

One sheet, ready to apply

When a machine carries a variety of decals, we consolidate them into one print or die operation and supply a sheet ready to apply. Fewer part numbers to order, fewer pieces to pick, and one revision to control.

About label sets

A machine leaving your floor rarely carries one label. It carries a nameplate, a set of warning and safety decals, control markings, a serial tag, branding, and often a maintenance reminder. Ordered separately, those are eight or nine part numbers, eight or nine receipts, and eight or nine chances for one of them to be out of stock on the day the unit ships.

A label set consolidates them. We print or die-cut the group in one operation and deliver it as a sheet or a bundle, identified by a single part number, built around one model of your equipment.

  • Warning, caution, and danger decals
  • Operating and control markings
  • Serial, VIN, property, and asset tags
  • Rating and data plates
  • Branding and model identification
  • Maintenance and service reminders
  • Certification and compliance marks

Assembly line savings

The value shows up at the point of installation, not the point of purchase. An operator working from one sheet applies labels in a known order and can see at a glance whether anything is still on the liner. Nothing gets missed, and nothing gets applied to the wrong model.

One part number
Purchasing orders one line item rather than nine. Receiving checks one item in.
One revision to control
When a warning decal changes, the set is revised once. There is no risk of an old decal from a separate box going onto a current machine.
Faster installation
Labels arrive in the order they are applied, on one carrier, instead of being picked from separate bins.
Less waste
Set quantities are built to the machines you are producing, so you are not scrapping a half-box of one decal while running out of another.
Fewer stockouts
The set ships complete. One missing decal cannot hold a finished unit on the line.

Sets built per model

We build the set around the finished machine rather than around our press. If you produce three trim levels of the same unit, each can have its own set with its own part number, so the person applying labels never has to decide which decal belongs to which configuration.

When a model changes, we revise that set and leave the others alone. Send the updated artwork and we will re-proof only what moved.

Label set materials and shapes

Everything in a set does not have to be the same construction. A warning decal that has to survive outdoors and a branding decal on an interior panel have different jobs, and the set can carry both.

Vinyl and polyester
The common flexible substrates for decals and safety labels. Polyester carries the harder service.
Polycarbonate
For overlays and faces that take repeated contact.
Aluminum and anodized aluminum
When an item in the set needs to be a metal plate rather than a decal. Anodized carries roughly 20-year exterior life.
Overlaminates
Clear gloss, matte, or UV-resistant film over the printed face, chosen against what the part has to survive.
Adhesives
Selected per item against the surface it mounts to, including 3M low-surface-energy options for powder coat and difficult plastics.

Items can be die cut to shape, kiss-cut on a shared liner so they peel individually, or supplied as separate pieces in one package. See die and digital cutting for how the outline is produced.

Label sets, kitting, and stock and release

These three are often confused. They solve different parts of the same problem and combine well.

Label sets
Multiple decals consolidated into one print or die operation, delivered as a sheet ready to apply. This page.
KittingWhere a unit needs control panels, decals, safety labels, and serial tags together, we deliver everything in one kit — including items that are not decals. See kitting.
Stock and releaseSets, kits, or individual parts held in our inventory for just-in-time delivery. You order ahead, we hold the parts until you need them, and the order is invoiced upon delivery rather than upon ordering. See stock and release programs.

Run together, a set becomes one part number that is held in inventory and released against your build schedule.

How a label set order runs

  1. Send what goes on the machine. Artwork, a photo of a current unit, or the decals themselves. Our seasoned art department turns a blueprint or artwork into a press-ready proof at no charge.
  2. We lay out the set. Items grouped by model, arranged in application order, with each construction chosen against where it mounts and what it has to survive.
  3. You approve one proof. The whole set is signed off together, so the revision is controlled at the set level.
  4. Production. Most jobs finish 7–10 days after the proof is approved, in an ISO 9001:2015 certified facility. Rush work runs 3–5 business days for an additional fee.
  5. Delivery or release. Orders ship within a 10% over/under quantity standard, or go into a stocking program and release against your build schedule.

Label set RFQ checklist

  • A list of every label that goes on the machine, or a photo of a finished unit
  • Artwork for each item, or the current decals if artwork is not available
  • How many models or trim levels need their own set
  • Where each item mounts, and what it is exposed to in service
  • Annual volume, and how many machines you build in a typical month
  • Whether you want the set kiss-cut on one liner or supplied as separate pieces
  • Whether you want the sets held in inventory and released against your schedule

If you do not have all of that yet, send what you have and call 319-895-8804. Customer service is open 8:00 AM–4:30 PM CST Monday through Thursday and 7:00 AM–3:30 PM CST Friday, and you will always reach someone in person.

Related capabilities

Label sets draw on screen printing and digital printing for the graphics, laminating for protection and adhesive, and die and digital cutting for the finished shapes. The items themselves are usually safety labels, warning labels, durable decals, serial plates, and rating plates.
