Learn how Metalphoto creates a black image within sealed anodized aluminum and what artwork, fabrication, environment, and data inputs to define. This answer is written for purchasing and engineering teams comparing custom identification options. If your application raises a related question, our team can review the details with you.

Metalphoto® is a photo-imaging process that creates a high-resolution black image within the sealed anodic layer of aluminum. Because the primary image is developed below the sealed surface rather than placed only on top, it can be considered for detailed industrial identification such as nameplates, serial or asset tags, rating plates, diagrams, scales, and aluminum control components.
Metalphoto can reproduce fine text, graphics, barcodes, and other customer-approved information, but process selection still depends on the drawing, material, fabrication, environment, artwork, and acceptance requirements for the exact part.
See the process description and planning inputs on the Metalphoto Processing page.
Send us what you have. A drawing, specification, photo, existing part, or approximate quantity can give our team a strong starting point for understanding your requirements.
We can then help determine what additional information may be needed before quoting or production.
